When doctors told him that his wife couldn’t be saved, one husband made the heartbreaking decision to turn off her life support machine. And before the inevitable, her family crowded round her bedside to express their love, most likely believing that she would never again respond to their words. Eventually, though, she found it within herself to make herself heard.

That woman was Lyndee Pellettiere-Swapp, from Phoenix, Arizona. She lives with her husband and has two grown-up children called Amanda and Steven. And, together, they were an extremely close-knit family.
