20. She misbehaved at school

Long before she became a Kennedy, Jackie Bouvier was a decidedly mischievous schoolgirl. While attending Manhattan’s Chapin School, she was described by one teacher as “a darling child… and full of the devil.” Jackie’s mother believed she only played up in class because she finished her work well ahead of her fellow pupils.

19. She gave her childhood friend a White House role

Jackie eventually improved her behavior and later graduated from Connecticut’s Miss Porter’s School with an award for excellence in literature. She also remained close friends with fellow student, Nancy Tuckerman, and later employed her as a White House social secretary. Tuckerman remained Kennedy’s personal secretary until the First Lady’s death in 1994.
