But it seems that this version of the movie wasn’t meant to be, as a few months after the birth of her child, the singer left the project altogether. Then, Cooper’s name became attached to it and the film started on its course to success.
Eventually, Cooper signed on to not only act in the film, but also to direct it. A Star Is Born marked the actor’s first turn at the helm of a production. And that meant that it was up to him to find his perfect co-star.
Born in Philadelphia in January of 1975, Cooper grew up wanting to be an actor. And after graduating from the New School’s Actors Studio Drama School, he made his start in Hollywood. It wasn’t long before he started landing major roles such as those in Alias, opposite Jennifer Garner, and in Wedding Crashers.
