Proudly speaking about Sarie in an interview with GQ, Robbie said that her mom was “just the sweetest person on Earth, and if I turned into her, I wouldn’t be that upset at all; in fact, it would be an honor.” Despite showing clear admiration for her upbringing, the star never got anything handed to her.
By the age of 16, the teen was contributing to the family finances with not one, not two, but three jobs. While acting was certainly her lifetime ambition, she didn’t mind rolling her sleeves up for the good of her nearest and dearest. Early in her employment history, she made sandwiches in the fast food outlet Subway.
Her first foray into the acting world was starring in a couple of indie Australian movies; 2008’s Vigilante and 2009’s I.C.U. She bagged a part in the latter without even having an agent at the time. It was obviously clear from early on that she had a raw talent in her chosen field.
