18. Her grandfather put wine in her baby bottle

Once upon a time, it was more or less acceptable for caregivers to give babies alcohol to help them sleep or to stop fussing. 17. She was once mistaken for an alleged mistress of Jay-Z’s

When Beyoncé suggested on her album Lemonade that her husband Jay-Z had cheated with a woman she called “Becky,” a lot of people wanted to find out the identity of this mystery mistress. 16. She cut off her fingertip on her first day at work

Although Ray may seem to never put a foot wrong in the kitchen, she’s not immune from the occasional mishap there. And nowhere is that better illustrated than in the story of her first day filming for the Food Network. Basically, she sliced the top of her finger off; the show went on regardless, though. Plus, there’s even a silver lining: now, Ray has claimed, she can stick said finger in the flames of lit candles as a party trick.
