20. They used to be called something different
Before they were The Beatles, they were known as The Silver Beetles. The name was eventually altered by then band member Stuart Sutcliffe, who suggested the group should drop the“Silver” part of their moniker. John Lennon was a fan of the new title, mainly because he liked the word “beat.”

19. A dentist once spiked their drinks
In 1965 John Lennon and George Harrison were subjected to an uninvited LSD trip. The pair were hanging out with Harrison’s dentist, a man named John Riley, when the nefarious character slipped the drug into their coffee without them knowing. Harrison recounted the event in the 2000 book The Beatles Anthology, declaring, “We were innocent victims of the wicked dentist whom we’d met and had dinner with a few times…”
