With its promise of instant notoriety, the selfie is the method par excellence for promoting brand “me”. Yet while the following daredevils deserve applause for their staggering bravado, remember this: in 2015 selfies were to blame for more deaths than shark attacks. Do not try this at home!
20. Stalinist Skyscraper Selfie
Vertigo sufferers, look away now! Known as the “Russian Spider-Man,” Kirill Oreshkin is famous for his fearless mastery of high places. Case in point right here. With the daredevil poised at the top of Moscow’s Red Gate Building – a Stalinist architectural wonder spanning 24 floors – this relaxed and confident selfie was snapped 436 feet up in the air. Terrifyingly, no safety equipment was used.
19. Grizzly Bear Selfie

Fortunately, this burly beast, snapped in Katmai National Park in Alaska, seems more interested in a nearby salmon spawning site than the fresh human meat posing in front of him; for now, at least.
