This Hot Builder Says He Can’t Live A Normal Life Because He Looks So Much Like Brad Pitt

You’d think that looking like one of Hollywood’s biggest heartthrobs would be a blessing rather than a curse. However, this hasn’t always been the case for British builder Nathan Meads. That’s right: he says his resemblance to Brad Pitt is so strong that he’s unable to live a normal life. Apparently, his doppelgänger status brings him unwanted attention – and even affects his romantic relationships.

In contrast to his famous lookalike, Meads is a humble builder from Oxford, England. A groundsman by trade, he spends most of his days working hard, crafting curbs and driveways. But his coworkers rarely call him by his real name. Instead, they prefer to refer to him as “Bradders” or simply “Brad,” due to his likeness to actor Pitt. Skeptical? Wait until you see the uncanny resemblance for yourself.

Of course, Pitt, on the other hand, is a global superstar, who has bagged a number of awards for his acting and producing prowess – and several Oscar nominations to boot. According to reports, the A-lister is worth a cool $240 million. His doppelgänger Meads, meanwhile, brings in around $37,000 a year as a builder.

With that discrepancy in mind, Meads’ blue-collar job seems worlds away from the bright lights of Hollywood that Pitt enjoys. Nonetheless, the builder may just have a taste for what it feels like to be a famous movie star. But according to him, resembling one of the biggest names in showbiz comes with all kinds of complications.

That’s because Meads says that his likeness to Pitt means that he’s unable to live a normal life. You see, the builder claims that his resemblance to the Hollywood megastar attracts attention wherever he goes. And as a result, people regularly come up to Meads to ask for his autograph or a photo of the Pitt doppelgänger.

Apparently, Meads became aware of his likeness to Pitt at some point around 2009. The actor was starring in Quentin Tarantino’s World War II drama Inglourious Basterds at the time. And it was supposedly during this period that people began coming up to Meads and telling him how much he resembled the Hollywood heartthrob.

Presumably, the attention that Meads started receiving must have come as a shock to him, given that at the time he saw no physical similarities between himself and Pitt. Yet the approaches from star-struck strangers continued, and he found himself more and more in demand for selfies and signatures. So, needless to say, Meads was a little bewildered.

Another reason that being compared to one of Hollywood’s biggest heartthrobs came as a surprise to Meads is that he’s rather modest about his appearance. In August 2019 he told the Daily Mail, “I’m not one of those lads who thinks they’re really good-looking. I’ve had quite a few girlfriends, but I’ve never thought I was one of those men that everyone fancies.”

Nonetheless, while Meads remained humble in regards to his looks, others continued to compare him to Pitt. And before long, the builder was being inundated with messages from individuals online and face-to-face approaches in real life. “I can’t go anywhere,” he explained. “I can’t go into shops; you see them behind the counter nudging each other, thinking I’m Brad Pitt.”

But while many would probably consider being compared to Pitt as a compliment, Meads has a less favorable view of the situation. Apparently, you see, the attention that the Brit received on account of his looks started to have a negative impact on his personal life. Meads claims that his newfound fame caused problems in his romantic relationships – a struggle that Pitt himself may well be all too familiar with.

Of course, Pitt’s love life has been a fascination of the press for decades. The actor famously married Friends star Jennifer Aniston in 2000, after all. However, they subsequently divorced five years later, after Pitt seemingly fell for his Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-star, Angelina Jolie, while making the hit movie.

So, following his split from Aniston, Pitt started dating Jolie. And naturally, their union attracted intense attention from media outlets, earning them the nickname “Brangelina.” Pitt soon became the adoptive dad of Jolie’s children, Maddox and Zahara, and in 2006 the couple welcomed their first biological daughter: Shiloh.

Then, in 2007, the Jolie-Pitt clan expanded once again, when the celebrity couple adopted their son Pax Thien in Vietnam. A year later, Jolie announced that she was pregnant with twins, delivering a daughter, Vivienne, and a son, Knox, a few months after that. And unsurprisingly, the eight-strong family continued to fascinate the press and public alike.

Much to the delight of fans, Pitt and Jolie finally tied the knot in August 2014 at a French château. Unfortunately, though, their marriage wasn’t to last. And in 2016 Jolie asked for a divorce on the grounds of irreconcilable differences between herself and Pitt. Consequently, a court restored Pitt and Jolie’s single statuses in April 2019.

Meads’ relationship status hasn’t garnered as much attention as Pitt’s, of course. But the builder has nonetheless become all too aware of how unwanted attention can impact upon his love life. That’s because when people began to notice his likeness to the actor, it apparently put a strain on Meads’ partnership with the mother of his two children.

You see, Meads claims that his former partner grew uncomfortable with the attention that he had been gaining due to his resemblance to Pitt. He told the Daily Mail, “She hated that we couldn’t go anywhere without girls coming up to me and asking me for photos.” And this was apparently one of the reasons why their relationship eventually came to an end.

But Meads is the just one of a long line of average Joes who’ve hit the spotlight thanks to their likenesses to major celebrities. Yes, there’s a wide community of doppelgängers that the Pitt lookalike could have turned to for advice when the attention he received became too much. These lookalikes may have been able to relate to Meads’ struggles, after all.

Take Amethyst Rose, for instance, whose resemblance to a global superstar may have you doing a double take. With her large, round eyes and shapely lips, the California-native is a dead ringer for Lady Gaga. And it seems that Rose’s likeness to the singer hasn’t gone unnoticed. So much so, in fact, that her Instagram bio once read, “If I had a dollar for every time someone said I look like Lady Gaga, I’d be [very] rich.”

And similarly to Meads’ experience, others apparently spotted Rose’s likeness to Lady Gaga before she did. Yes, strangers would post on her Instagram photos to point out the similarities between her and the Born This Way singer. And eventually, Rose started playing up to the comparisons by copying some of Gaga’s most iconic stylings.

Rose explained in an Instagram post, “I didn’t see the similarities until people started telling me. Then, in some pictures, I mistake [Lady Gaga] for myself for a split second!” And reflecting on the likeness between herself and Gaga, she added, “The lips and eyes are the similarities I see; we have different noses.”

Unlike Meads, though, Rose seemed to revel in the comparisons between herself and Lady Gaga, even hinting that she’d like to step into her shoes one day. She wrote on Instagram, “If Lady Gaga ever plays a role in a movie where she needs to portray a teenage her, I’m all for it. I’m also okay with being a stunt double.”

And Lady Gaga isn’t the sole singing sensation with an everyday lookalike. For instance, 22-year-old Sofia Solares gained viral fame during the summer of 2017 thanks to her striking resemblance to pop star Selena Gomez. After all, the pair are both brunettes and sport incredibly similar deep-brown eyes, full brows and plump lips.

Incredibly, after Solares’ likeness to Gomez became apparent, her social media following increased significantly – to almost half a million. The young woman was also flooded with comments on Instagram that pointed out her resemblance to the famous singer. One such message described Solares as “Selena’s doppelgänger,” while another read, “God, you look like Selena.”

But while Solares didn’t mind being compared to Gomez, she also hoped fans would appreciate her for who she is. In 2016 she explained to E! News, “Honestly, with time I’ve already gotten used to people saying, ‘You look like Selena Gomez,’ wherever I’ve been. It’s not something that I dislike, but I like it better when they love me for being myself.”

Solares also claimed that she didn’t copy Gomez’s look but rather dressed in her own style. She said, “When I like something, I wear it, or I’ll do it because it truly inspires me. But I always try to stay true to myself. I mean, it’s great that I look like her, but I don’t want to lose myself trying to be someone that I’m not!”

Meanwhile, although Solares was keen to be her own person, she did admit to admiring the songstress. She explained to E! News, “I love Selena Gomez, and I declare myself a fan of hers, and of course it would be a dream to know that she is aware of my existence. If she were to take a few minutes to write something to me, I would cry of happiness!”

Moreover, it’s not only female celebrities who have lookalikes among the general public. With his floppy red hair, blue-green eyes and wide smiling face, Ty Jones from Manchester, England, bears an uncanny resemblance to singer Ed Sheeran. Much like Meads, however, Jones has apparently experienced the negative side of looking like someone in the public eye.

While Jones is an introvert by nature, his likeness to Sheeran has meant that he’s had to deal with hundreds of fans stopping him for a photograph or his signature. Jones told the Daily Mirror in 2016, “He’s such a big artist, and I’m a massive fan of his, but now it’s like I can’t escape it. People go mad when they think they’re meeting Ed Sheeran.”

Moreover, being Sheeran’s doppelgänger created issues in Jones’ love life – a situation that Meads says he understands all too well. “It’s made my relationships worse, I’d say,” Jones explained. “Because now I have to weigh up if they like me for me, or are they’re just interested in me because I’m the next best thing to Ed if they really like him?”

Plus, when Jones has dated, some of his partners have allegedly struggled to deal with all the attention. “When girls ask me for pictures in the streets, it’s annoyed some of my girlfriends in the past and caused problems,” he revealed. “It’s hard to explain, because it’s not like I can help it, and I don’t like being horrible to people and [denying] them a picture if they want one.”

So, as both Jones and Meads have attested, there may be some downsides to being a celebrity doppelgänger. But having a famous lookalike surely isn’t all bad news. And besides, there are more unflattering people to be compared to than Pitt. The actor is widely considered to be extremely good-looking, after all, and he has a number of accolades to prove it, too.

For example, back in 1995 – when Pitt was still a breakthrough star – Empire magazine listed him in its countdown of the most attractive stars to appear on a cinema screen. Months later, the actor was crowned Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine. And he would receive the latter award for a second time in 2000.

Plus, there’s no doubting the influence that Pitt has had on Hollywood throughout his 30-year career. Forbes has included the actor in three of its annual 100 most powerful celebrities lists, for example. TIME, meanwhile, named Pitt as one of the planet’s 100 most influential people in 2007. And the magazine also commended the thespian for using “his star power to get people to look [to where] cameras don’t usually catch.”

Despite the negative impact that resembling Pitt may have had on Meads’ personal life, the builder has nonetheless learned to embrace his likeness to the star. Indeed, he eventually became an official lookalike for the actor, sometimes charging more than $1,000 per appearance. And he now styles his facial hair in a similar way to the celebrity in order to increase the similarities between himself and his Tinseltown twin.

But apart from his recently acquired beard, Meads insists that his resemblance to Pitt is purely down to chance. In fact, the British builder claimed that he’d done nothing to imitate Pitt before people started comparing him to the actor. And now he’s accepting of strangers’ interest in him. He told the Daily Mail, “If it puts a smile on their face, I’m happy to do it.”

Nowadays, Meads is even happy to flaunt his undeniable likeness to Pitt on the internet. On both Instagram and Twitter he describes himself as a “model/actor” who happens to be “the world’s most famous Brad Pitt lookalike.” And Meads boasts thousands of followers on both of the social media channels to prove it.

What’s more, Meads has found love once again thanks to his good looks. In October 2018 Adiel Mckinven reached out to the Pitt lookalike on Facebook, complimenting him on his handsome appearance. However, when Meads asked his new admirer to accompany him to dinner, her doubts got the better of her.

In fact, following Meads’ offer of a date, Mckinven began to believe that his physical attractiveness was too good to be true. And as a result, the nursery manager thought that she may have been catfished. Mckinven took a chance, though, and went to meet Meads. And as soon as she laid eyes on him, she realized that he really was as good-looking as his pictures had made out.

In fact, it seems Mckinven fell for Meads right away. And she’s apparently totally fine with her boyfriend’s unusual lifestyle thanks to his celebrity doppelgänger, too. That’s right: she says she doesn’t mind the attention that Meads receives from female admirers when attending public events as a Pitt lookalike.

Yes, it seems as though Meads and Mckinven have been able to deal with his newfound fame as a celebrity lookalike with good humor. She told the Daily Mail, “Nathan laughs at it, and so do I.” Joking, Mckinven added, “It’s just a shame I don’t look like Angelina Jolie!”
