Once renowned for her role as a teenage witch, nowadays Melissa Joan Hart has a “magic” solution for weight loss. She’s found the perfect solution to the question of how she can keep the pounds off while working on set the whole day. And the actress spilled the secret of how she stays in great shape into her 40s.
First appearing on TV when she was four, Hart has been a regular more or less ever since. A star of kids’ TV, perhaps Hart’s biggest role was as Sabrina The Teenage Witch in the much-loved ABC series. Having made more than 100 episodes of sitcom Melissa & Joey, she most recently starred in another comedy for Netflix, No Good Nick.
Away from the screen, Hart likes to keep fit, working out with her husband, rocker Mark Wilkerson. But she’s no fan of the popular keto diet. Apparently, she had gone with a friend to see her doctor, and he’d told her companion to quit because it had caused acid reflux. However, one of the eating plan’s elements has crept into her own health regime.
Yes, each day Hart swigs back a dose of MCT oil. She pops it in the water that she keeps around and in her tea. And she claims she’s really feeling the benefits, telling the hosts of TV show People Now in April 2019, “I, like, lost a little bit of weight right away and like – just a few pounds – but I was able to keep it off.” Hart maintains that the oil puts a bit more energy into her system, and means that she doesn’t crave food.
But what is MCT? Medium-chain triglycerides are a group of saturated fatty acids which can be extracted from coconut or palm oils. They’re a bit different from unsaturated fats such as olive oil, as expert Jill Keene told Women’s Health magazine. She said, “MCT goes straight to your liver to be metabolized, and it won’t be stored as fat.” Consequently, MCT seemingly really can provide an energy boost.
